EDIFACT Messaging

After a month in the new job, I started to realize there are different types of EDI messages and standards used in various industries and organizations. I have come across the X12 standard that been using in my previous employer. In this new job, the Company is using EDIFACT messaging and the difference in them is the data format for each transaction ID.

I found some interesting links that covers these differences between X12 and EDIFACT for my references at work.

  1. X12 – http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASC_X12
  2. EDIFACT –http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/UN/EDIFACT

    HI,

I Worked with many standards EDI and X12. The EDI is European Standard of structure files and X12 is americas Standard of structure files. Exist many document types on both standard, even if you work for many time with EDI and X12 I think that is impossible know all messages.

If you have any doubts about both standars, maybe I can help you.

    Good luck.
